About the Journal
Trio is a scholarly journal devoted to the wide spectrum of music studies and artistic research in music. It publishes peer-reviewed articles, lectiones praecursoriae, reviews, essays, book reviews, and reports.
Trio is a bi-annual publication, the first edition of which was published in spring 2012. Trio has continious submission, the typical deadlines for the two issues are around Mayday (1.5.) and Halloween (1.10.).
Trio has received the label for peer-reviewed scholarly publications granted by the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies. Therefore, it subscribes the peer-review practices used in Finnish scholarly publishing with the best and ethically sound international standards, thereby promoting transparency in academic quality assurance.
The Editorial Team will evaluate manuscripts according to the comparative assessment method for scholarly articles (double blind peer review). If the manuscript is suitable for publication in Trio, it will be sent to two peer reviewers anonymized, after which the author will receive written feedback with possible suggestions for improvement. The Author then finalizes the manuscript based on peer reviews and editorial comments. The Editorial Team will also edit the language and use Turnitin plagiarism checker.
Trio does not have author submission or processing charges. The author(s) will retain the proprietary rights and the right of use to the text, which will not be limited by the transfer of a parallel right of use (publishing in Trio).
Trio is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user. It uses the Creative Commons CC BY-NC licence. The author(s) retain ownership and other copyrights in the text. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the DOAI definition of open access.
Trio is archived electronically by Natial Library of Finland through journal.fi platform of the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies. The journal may also be found in the Taju repository of the Uniarts Helsinki.
