Abstract

In her doctoral research, Lampinen explored the connection between choral repertoires
and identities within church choirs in one Lutheran Diocese in Northern Tanzania. The participants
in this research were a group of choir conductors in this diocese. The concept of
identities was approached from individual, social, and group aspects as well as religious,
ethnic, and national viewpoints.
